PANTHER Is available  for all elements of Marine Surveys. Skipper Peter Nicholas has over the years taken part in various surveys. With his extensive knowledge of Swansea Bay, Carmarthen Bay and the Bristol Channel. His service has been invaluable to many educational and commercial clients.

 

Seafish Trials Monitoring Gear in Marine Protected Areas

The trial utilised a towed camera sled specially designed and assembled by Dr. Andy Woolmer of Salacia Marine. The camera sled is fitted with an underwater video camera, a separate stills camera, an underwater light and a laser scaling system to assess the size of objects recorded by the cameras.

This project is being led by Seafish in collaboration with the NFFO (National Fishermen`s Federation Organisation).  SWIFA the(South West Fishermen`s Association), local fishermen association participating in the pilot, NE, MMO the (Marine Management Organisation), CEFAS, the IFCAs (Inshore Fishery and Conservation Associations) and Defra.
